Different versions of this old-school toy originated in Bobcageon and Illinois. Whoever made the first one can rest assured that their idea has not been lost.
This is my rendition of that toy. It’s an elevated version of the crude model i made as a kid using a stick and a 5-hole Meccano part. It’s called Yip Stick because when someone said “yip” I would make the propellor spin in the opposite direction. But to be honest .. any word or phrase can be used to flaunt your magical skills.
I amazed siblings and pranked uncles and pondered about the physics for years. Yip Stick was also a friend I could take to the back porch for quiet moments as well.
This toy is made of cedar and cotton and is 99% biodegradable.
