These cute rustic hooks are forged from horseshoe nails. They have a little scroll on the end. They have been treated with linseed oil to help prevent rusting. These are made by me, Kevin, in my blacksmith shop named Red Maple Forge.  Comes with matching screws.

Description

These would be great for small items like keys, jewelry, rings, necklaces, cooking utensils and adding a little rustic look to any wood project.

  • Finish: Dark slate gray with some blue tone.

  • screw size is 16mm (5/8 inches) long

The process of making.

These start out as drafting horse shoe nails, which i buy from a local tack shop. I heat them in my forge to a yellow heat and flatting the head over my 100+ year old anvil. Then the little curl on the end is added, and finish the forging by making the hook part with my homemade jig. After forging they are cleaned of scale, reheated to a black heat and treated with linseed oil to prevent rusting.
