This listing is for Nerissa (Sea Nymph). I hope you will like her as much as I do. Her body is made of high count cotton from the waist up. Her features are sculpted and then coloured with Prisma pencils, and just a touch of gel pen for the whites of her eyes. Her face is protected with a matte spray.
The tail is a base layer of cotton, stuffed and then covered with a layer of upholstery fabric. She has a wire armature to create the shapely body. In various areas of her body, I have also added sections of the upholstery fabric, such as her bust and arms. Her headdress is a beaded applique. Her hair is a knitting yarn much like a Chenille, very soft and lush.
Her fins and tail are fabric, covered in a layer of Organza. There are shards of Organza attached on her tail, wrists and shoulders. Adding to her embellishments, are multiple colours of mussel shell beads, and gems, with a tiny glimmer of gold beads tucked in here and there.. The mussel shell beads give that wonderful illusion of scales. They are used in a minimal way but just enough to give you that surprise when you look at her from all sides.
To complete the look, she is holding a textured fiber to suggest a fisherman’s net. She is designed to be a wall doll. She would definitely make a statement for anyone that sees her. She is approximately 24″ tall.
